Rob Davies
Special Topic: Climate Intelligence & Action for Artists
Robert Davies is a physicist whose work focuses on complexity, global change, human vibrancy, and critical science communication. Rob has delivered hundreds of public lectures ― to policymakers, business leaders, civic organizations and faith communities ― and his “performance science” theatrical collaboration The Crossroads Project | Rising Tide has been performed across the U.S. and in three countries. Dr. Davies has served as a scientific liaison for NASA on the International Space Station Project; as a project scientist with Utah State University’s Space Dynamics Laboratory; and an officer and meteorologist in the United States Air Force. He is currently Associate Professor of Professional Practice with Utah State University’s Department of Physics.
Andrew Noseworthy
Music Lit: Electric Guitar Instructor
The work of composer-guitarist-arranger Andrew Noseworthy (he/him/his) reflects upon the acceptance/rejection of “locality,” drawing from experiences while living in Labrador West, St John's (Newfoundland) and New York City. His music aims to address the contextual space and dissemination for underrepresented musical voices. With composer/guitarist Aeryn Santillan, he is the co-founder of experimental hardcore duo this place is actually the worst and DIY label people | place | records, both projects that connect communities existing on the fringes of “new music” and “hardcore/electronic” realms. Andrew’s multifaceted work also includes collaborations with performers/organizations/commissioners such as The Metropolis Ensemble, Contact (Toronto), Evan Ziporyn, Tim Brady/Bradyworks, Andrea Lodge and Din of Shadows, choreographers/dancers/filmmakers Angie Moon, Abraham Texidor and Norberto Collazo, and composers Yaz Lancaster, Saman Shahi and Bekah Simms. Andrew's previous mentors include Michael Gordon and Andrew Staniland. He is currently a PhD Candidate in Music Composition at Western University, studying with Paul Frehner.

Kerwin Young
Music Lit: A Historical Overview of Hip-Hop Instructor
Kerwin Young is a prolific international composer and recording producer, whose music has served as social commentary the world over since 1989. From Public Enemy to the Symphony, Kerwin Young has gone from member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Public Enemy to becoming a renowned orchestral composer of more than seven epic symphonies. His works have been performed by Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Music From China, Kansas City Symphony, Chicago Modern Orchestra Project, University City Symphony, and other well-known ensembles.
As a media composer, Young has composed for projects including the 1994 debut season of New York Undercover; the 1997 directorial debut of Goetz Grossman, Tar; KCPT's weekly news series Ruckus; and has composed and produced original songs for feature motion pictures such as Do The Right Thing (1989), Green Card (1990), Sister Act 2 (1992), and American Crime Story: The People Vs O.J. Simpson (2016).
Young studied music composition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance with Chen Yi, Zhou Long, and Jazz Messenger legend, Bobby Watson. In 2017, Young served in Egypt as a U.S. Cultural Ambassador for Hip-Hop, teaching music composition, music production, media scoring, and business.
