A Brief History of DIY Punk: 1980-2020. An exploration of DIY Punk culture and history from 1980 to the present day will be given by practicing punk and experimental music composer, guitarist, bassist and label manager Aeryn Santillan (GLFCAM Fellow, Cycle 5 and 11). This course will dive into local, regional, and global scenes through documentaries, articles, and albums that showcase a multitude of punk subgenres, values, and socio-political movements. The Happy Hour discussion event will feature a panel of DIY punk veterans.

Tuition for this course is on an honor system, i.e., a sliding scale. The prices cited below are for the entire run of events (five in total) for the course. If your funds are modest and a $3 cup of coffee is a treat, you should select the lower end of the sliding scale ($15 for the five events). If you are able to enjoy a $15 yoga class, then you should select the higher end of the sliding scale ($75 for the five events). Please note that our refund policy is to return 50% of the tuition if withdrawal from enrollment is made one month before the start of the class.
